Frequently Asked Questions

What does artwork refer to?
The complete material including type, fonts and graphics. Artwork must be emailed to us in the following electronic formats:
Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Encapsulated Post Script (.eps), PDF or a high resolution JPEG (at least 300 dpi). Aside from the JPEG format, ALL other formats must be given to us in a vector graphic outline to ensure a sharp, clean looking print.

What are vector graphics?
A vector graphic is the use of points, lines, curves, and shapes or polygons - all of which are based on mathematical expressions to represent images in computer graphics. Because vector graphics are mathematical expressions instead of pixels you can create an image which will never lose its clarity no matter how large or small you decide to make it.

How do I get my artwork in the required formats?
You can request a copy of your artwork from your designer or alternatively we can convert your artwork into a vector graphic outline providing that your original artwork is good enough for us to use. A vector graphic outline can be saved as an Illustrator, EPS or PDF file.

Do you design artwork?
Yes, we can. Simply tell us what you would like (graphics, company name, tel. no, website etc.) and we will have our in house design team create an artwork proof showing the design including what it will look like once printed onto your chosen product. *n.b. charges may apply if frequent artwork changes are required.

Can I have more than one colour print?
Yes, providing the colours are not touching but we will need to view your artwork beforehand. However, due to each colour being printed separately they may be slight variations between the alignments of the various colours.

Paper carrier bags: Up to 3 colours from either one of our many standard colours or a Pantone colour of your choice.
Plastic bags: Up to 4 Pantone colours of your choice.

What is a Pantone colour reference?
The Pantone Color Matching System (PMS) is largely a standardised colour reproduction system. By standardising the colours, different manufacturers in different locations can all refer to the Pantone system to make sure colors match without direct contact with one another.

Where do I get a Pantone reference from?
www.pantone.com is the main reference point for individuals who do not have the relevant design software. Alternatively you can obtain this from your artwork designer.

Product Information & Order Quantities

What is the gusset on a bag?
It is the fold in the side or bottom of the bag which allows it to expand when contents are inserted. This is usually denoted by the final number in the bag's dimensions.

Can you print over the gusset?
We can only print centrally on our bags within the set print areas of the gusset.

What is the minimum order quantity?
See below for further information on all our available products and their individual minimum order quantities:

Twisted and flat handle paper bags: 250 bags
Rope handled bags: 100 bags
Plastic carrier bags: 3000 bags

Can I split the minimum order qunantity between sizes?
Unfortunately, no.

Delivery & Payment

How quickly can I have my logo printed products?
Usual lead time is around 10-15 working days from approval of artwork and receipt of payment depending on our production schedule.

Is their an express option to get my printed products faster?
Generally first orders will take 10-15 days. We can express some orders to be completed within 10 working days at an additional charge, quoted upon request.

Are their any additional delivery charges?
All deliveries to UK mainland are free of charge on orders over £85. Orders below £85 are charged at £5.25 and are delivered within 2-3 working days. We do offer an express delivery service, please see our delivery for further information.

When do I pay for my order?
Payment is required in advance of production and will be taken on approval of your artwork.

Do you accept payment by credit card over the phone?
Yes. To make payments quick and easy for our customers, we are able to facilitate card payments as well as bank transfers.

Nice to know

Please send your artwork* to [email protected] and tell us which products you want to use, the colours you wish to print with and the quanitity required. We'll get back to you with a quote, if you're happy with the prices then all we need are your company address and full contact details. We will then send you an artwork proof illustration of exactly what details. We will then send you an artwork proof illustration of exactly what your item will look like once printed.
After we've printed something for you, we'll store the printing plates so ordering next time costs even less! You will receive your personalised products within 2-3 weeks of approval.

*1 Applies to Twisted Handled Paper Carrier Bags, 1 side and 1 colour.
*2 In the event where you are unhappy or would like to make a change you will be sent an additional proof. Please note that extensive amends may result in extra charges.
*3 Customer specified colour can be closely matched or alternatively a Pantone colour reference must be supplied, where a charge of £35 will be applied. All prices exclude VAT
